In many high-stakes rooms, talented women and nonbinary technologists do the work, but their ideas land last—or not at all. This session equips attendees with a practical playbook to move from feeling invisible to becoming a trusted, influential voice when it matters most. Drawing on real stories from engineering and product decision rooms, we’ll unpack the subtle dynamics that mute voices and translate them into specific, doable power moves. Participants will learn three core skills: (1) how to enter the conversation early and with clarity, (2) how to make ideas “stick” using strategic framing and cite-and-build techniques, and (3) how to project authority through body language, vocal choices, and concise language—even when you’re the only one in the room who looks like you. Attendees will leave with a repeatable toolkit to advocate for their ideas, amplify others, and create a ripple effect for more equitable, inclusive decision-making in their own organizations.
